Having been a donor for many years (and being a rare blood group) I am gutted to find out that I too cannot donate here as I have been resident in the UK for more than 12 months between 1980 and 1996 and could, "thoretically", pass on Mad Cow disease!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8168771.post-65065609127923584752009-07-05T15:50:02.663+02:002009-07-05T15:50:02.663+02:00You have my complete understanding, Back whenI was...You have my complete understanding, Back whenI was a young thing the blood service here wouldn't take mine because I was below their weight requirement.

Now I weigh more than enough, but even if they could ignore ( and sensibly don't) my health hiccups, blood transfusions and autoimmune-suppressant medications , I can't because I spent more than 6 months in the UK back in Mickle in NZhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10432796020646607634noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8168771.post-87917737537075730052009-07-02T10:05:51.705+02:002009-07-02T10:05:51.705+02:00I really envy those who donate blood, but I CAN...I really envy those who donate blood, but I CAN'T! Nothing physical, but psychological. Just can't do it. I had to use EMLA patches to get my blood drawn during pregnancy. On the day I forgot, when they did that really big blood test at the beginning, I fainted. I even fainted when I did have an EMLA patch but they had to draw twice for the diabetes test. My MIL had to hold me down to Andiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16305241466347897148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8168771.post-51032417480567281412009-07-01T15:31:34.005+02:002009-07-01T15:31:34.005+02:00J, I'm not sure, I know they ask for what medi...J, I'm not sure, I know they ask for what medications you take but I don't know if that would disqualify you. Check out that link and if it doesn't say there I reckon the only way to find out is by trying!Vivihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01430365550674784871noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8168771.post-71025386484259809492009-07-01T11:56:14.644+02:002009-07-01T11:56:14.644+02:00Wait.
