Calling Displaced Floridians

I am anxiously awaiting news from family and friends in the "Sunshine State" (pffft) , so if any of you stumble onto this site, please leave a comment. You've been in my thoughts and I hope the damage isn't too too bad.

Blargh.

Frances has passed us by, we think. Ok, not really. She's out in the gulf and she appears to have stalled. Some even have suggested that she turned a bit to the northeast. Not good for us. We lost power yesterday around 2:15 p.m. and got it back last night around 2. I used my fondue pot to cook chicken noodle soup for everyone.

I'll keep you posted as electricity permits.

Hurrah! Glad to know you all are ok. Will keep an eye on the weather to see what Frances decides to do next...

Can't remember if I updated you or not. My folks are safe in St. A, but they haven't been back to check on the house, and feel too guilty and/or nervous to call the neighbors and ask. My Future-In-Laws rode out the storm in Stuart (yikes!) but they are fine. They lost their dock...and the boat that was tied to it. Oops. But everyone is safe and sound.

xoxo,

Whew, thanks for the update, C. Tell them I'm thinking about them, when you talk to them again. I saw something online that Stuart took a particualarly nasty beating, so glad to know that the future in-laws are alright. :)

We lost power for 3 days, but Frances hit a bit north of us. It's IVAN we're worried about now!

Hi Val this is Anna's Mom in the wonderful world of Hurricanes!!! We are fine now that we have power, phone, TV, and computer access - we didn't for over 5 days. Now we just wait till Ivan decides what he is going to do. Ivan can stay over Cuba for awhile.
